1. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT, WHY WE COLLECT IT, AND HOW IT IS USED

(i) We Process the Following Personal Information:

a. Personal information provided through the Website. When you use the Website’s contact form, we collect and process any personal information you chose to provide us with, including your name, email address, and contact message. Supplying this personal information is optional and visitors are encouraged not to submit sensitive personal or medical information through the contact form or via direct contact with us.
b. Personal information automatically collected. We use minimal cookies and similar identifiers ("Technologies") on the Website for the purposes of operating the Website.
c. Personal information we collect from online interactions. If you interact with us, we may keep a record of our communication, which may contain your contact details, such as full name, email address, messages and any other personal information that you decide to provide us with.
d. Email updates. If you sign up for a monthly research update, we collect your email address and the condition you chose, and nothing else. We send one email a month for each condition you subscribe to, when that condition’s update is published; if you subscribe to several conditions, you will receive one email a month for each of them. You confirm the signup by clicking a link in a confirmation email, and nothing is sent before that. Every email has an unsubscribe link, which removes you from that condition’s list immediately. Your address is never sold, shared, or used for anything other than these updates.

(ii) We process personal information for the following purposes:

a. To allow you to make use of our Website and for administrative purposes. If you choose to contact us, we will use the personal information you provide (such as your name, email address, and message) to respond to your inquiry and communicate with you. We may also use limited technical tools necessary for the operation of the Website and to understand general website usage in order to improve the Website.
b. Security purposes. Some of the personal information mentioned in this Privacy Policy will be used for detecting, taking steps to prevent and prosecuting fraud or other illegal activity; to identify and repair errors; to conduct audits; and for security purposes. Personal information may also be used to comply with applicable laws, with investigations performed by the relevant authorities, law enforcement purposes, and/or to exercise or defend legal claims.
c. Cookies and Similar Technologies. We use Technologies to automatically remember certain user preferences (for example acknowledging the Website’s terms notice), which in certain cases could be considered personal information. We use Technologies that are essentially small data files placed on your device that allow the Website to remember certain preferences. If you would like to opt out of the cookies and similar technologies we employ on the Website, you may do so by blocking, deleting, or disabling them as your browser or device permits or by changing your setting and preferences.
