Baruch Tepper
In Loving Memory of Baruch Tepper(1948–2018) This website is dedicated to the memory of Baruch Tepper, a devoted family man, who was deeply loved and is dearly missed.

About This Website

Our goal is to help patients and families more easily understand and follow new research on rare and complex conditions. We bring together newly published studies and recruiting clinical trials and explain them in plain language.

We use AI to review and summarize research from sources like PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov, so information stays up to date across many conditions. We always link the original studies so you can read them yourself.

This is for educational purposes only. It may not include every detail and can contain errors, and it doesn't replace medical advice. If something here matters to you, review the original studies and discuss it with your healthcare team.

New conditions are added regularly. Don't see your condition listed? Let me know.

Each month, newly published research papers are collected from PubMed, a free database maintained by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, for each condition covered on this website. Only publicly available material that clearly permits automated access is used. If only the abstract is available, it may be included if it contains enough detail to understand what was studied and found. Paywalled or restricted content is never accessed. Review articles, which summarize existing knowledge rather than report new findings, are generally not included in the monthly updates.

A structured AI-assisted pipeline extracts and summarizes key findings from the papers in accessible language. These summaries are then combined into monthly research updates that highlight recurring findings, emerging treatments, clinical trials, and areas of uncertainty.

Clinical trial information is sourced separately from ClinicalTrials.gov. Only trials that are recruiting or will be recruiting in the future are shown, so you can more easily find studies that may still be relevant for participation.

Multiple processing steps and editorial constraints are used to improve clarity, consistency, and source grounding, but mistakes and omissions may still occur. Not all research is included — some studies may be missed because they are published outside PubMed, behind paywalls, or not yet publicly available. This website does not host or redistribute research papers; links to the original PubMed entries and publisher pages are always provided in the reference section of each summary.

I'm Michal Tepper (LinkedIn), a biomedical engineer with a PhD and years of experience in R&D across medical device companies and academic research.
I built this site in memory of my father, Baruch Tepper, who was diagnosed with AL amyloidosis in 2015 and passed away in 2018. During those years, he spent many hours reading online and attending patient meetings, trying to understand his disease and what research might eventually help. I built MedicalUpdates.ai so that others facing a rare diagnosis have an easier place to start.

I have no affiliation with any pharmaceutical company or institution, don't accept payment for featuring studies, promote specific treatments or products, or run any advertising.
